let's not worry about specifics, since things vary from school to school. bottom line: shut up and do your best.
Gee, thanks for the helpful reply Mr. Congeniality.
Sorry if seeking a little knowledge is so intrusive to you.
Does anyone else know? I realize schools are all different, but I'm just wondering how any of them even approach it.
People I have spoken with tend to agree that 3rd and 4th year grades are weighed more heavily, as they are based on your clinical performance, and not on "regurgitating minutia"
Best thing to do is look into different programs and see how the rank what, in order of importance with their selection for the match.
Like the other posters said...it depends...
My school weighs each 4 week rotation as 10 credits each...
for a total of 21 rotations as 210 credits....for the 3/4th years combined. I am not sure how many we had from didactic...

Wondering:
Assuming not just P/F, how do year 3/4 grades factor into your GPA/class rank?
Confoozed😕
At my school class rank is based 2/3 on clinical grades (year 3), 1/3 basic sciences (yrs 1&2)

I know our 3rd year grades count as much as our 1st and 2nd year combined.
which basically means they are weighed the same
All required classes 1-3 count toward ranking at our school. 4th year required classes don't. All electives and AI's are P/F and don't count toward rankings. But officially, we don't rank... and you won't find this in our handbook.
H=4 (10-15%), HP=3 (25-40%), P=2 (50-60%).
Every school does it differently.
