rotations for first years

anyone doing rotations there first year? at UMaryland we are going to ge t a week off each semster to do a "mini rotation" at a hospital and community setting..was wondering if other colleges do this as well..

At USC, we start our clerkship either at a hospital or community setting during our first semester,

We do rotations our first year, although I think that they're more of the "shadow" variety. 10 weeks in retail, 10 in a hospital, and 10 doing community service/outreach (or something to that effect). My sites just happen to be about 3 blocks from my apartment. YEY!

10 weeks? that a total of 30 weeks.. wow..are these done in the summer? when do you have class if not?

Oh, right. 1 day per week for 10 weeks, not every day for 10 weeks. My bad. 🙂
(But, yes, we do go to class in the summer too)

edit: now that I look at the schedule, it looks more like about 8 weeks each.
