That is a good question. I really don't have a whole lot of interest in staying in South Florida for residency at this point, so I never thought very much about it...
I'd say that some of the possible 4th year "home month" Miami hospitals certainly have DPM residencies (Mercy, Mt Sinai, Palmetto, Jackson, DVA, Parkway, etc). I'm not sure if the Barry clinics are "home month" possibilities, but if they are, students would still work with Barry faculty who are residency directors or attendings on a fair number of the clinic days there too.
Maybe at commencement, I'll try to ask one of the 07 graduates to find out more about the two 4th year "home months." I suppose that, for a Barry student going after a south Florida residency (many do), those months could be, in effect, two more clerkships before CRIPS.
