I have an opportunity to go one of two paths as of right now: 1) to take upper division science courses and get a BS
Or 2) to take intro to sciences (just for sgpa boost) and have a BA

I have a 3.3 sgpa currently
And I need to boost it
However the intro to sciences do not count towards anything whereas the UD would count to BS
I've read that it doesn't matter what class you take a along as it's an A whether it be ud science vs intro however due to the lack of structure(not pertaining to my major rather just free elective) I'm worried. What would you do? The degree title makes no difference to me personally though.

How much is one science course going to alter your GPA at this point? I can't imagine it doing much of anything, and, if that's the case, take whichever class you're more interested in taking.

Oh, I guess I didn't quite read that correctly.

In any case, ask yourself if you can handle upper division courses. If you can't, then obviously go the easier route; adcoms won't care. The only reason to go the harder route is for your own enrichment. It's your college experience, and you're going to get out of it what you put in. Decide what your end-goal is and pursue it. For some, it's going to med school; for others it's that but also learning something and pursuing their interests.

my question is, will not taking biochemistry affect me? i hear some schools are making it a pre req?

Biochemistry is highly recommended by most schools and rightfully so, as it helps a great deal on the MCAT and provides a nice basis for stuff covered in med school. As far as schools making it mandatory, I can't answer that.
