I desperately need an answer. I am a Certified Senior Tech and have been at a large retail chain for 5 years. I know what I'm doing and I'm good at my job.

It seems that as soon as a Muslim RPh finds out that I'm Jewish, they go out of their way to make my life a living hell. Do the Jews and Muslims have some sort of beef that I'm unaware of?

Has anybody else run into this? The first couple of times didn't make the connection, but now I'm starting to wonder.

That's extremely odd

I'm not trolling. I really need some input. At both pharmacies the RXM is Muslim and so are all the techs. I'm the only Jew. I don't have problems with any of the other staff RPh's; only the one's with the last name of Patel.

It's weird and very upsetting.

That's a pretty heavy cost for a 4/4 creature. I guess it's worth it since it has regenerate.

Dude since when is a 4/4 for 4 a heavy cost without some kind of penalty? And it can't be countered, affecting control decks, and it can't be the target of spells. So it can't be bounced, disabled, etc. by anything.

AND it can regenerate on the off chance that pure brute force kills it. but you can beef him up yourself

There is NOTHING wrong with the card other than being legendary. It's just a troll ascetic but can be targeted by your own stuff.

I guess I'm just too used to playing Faeries, where most of the creatures are <3 drops (except Mistbind Clique, and if I decide to run Sower of Temptation)

Tha was one of the greatest imbeded links ever!!! Go down to the bottom of and you can watch the 100 cheesiest movie lines and the 100 greatest movie insults.

Yeah that was more of a weenie deck. Just remember the play environment now, and at the very worst it's a sideboard card for control. But between this and vengevine you have some good, quick beatdown for people.

Assuming you're not a troll...

Yes, especially considering the Middle East, those of more traditionalist Jewish and Muslim faiths have not really liked each other. And its been like that since Abraham walked the Earth.

However, in America we tend to get the less insane brand of Muslims and Jews that coexist in a friendly and peaceful manner. So what you are experiencing is not only an oddity, but it is highly discriminatory and should be brought to the attention of your HR department.

They've never said anything anti-semitic. I am belittled and always get the short end of the stick when I work with these particular Rph's while the techs who are Indian get preferential treatment. That part is blatantly obvious. I don't have any proof that it's because I'm Jewish, but as I've mentioned before, I've never had an issue with any of the other RPh's who I believe are Christian.

There is a lot wrong with the stereotypes being thrown around in this thread.

1. Historic animosity between Jews and Muslims does not mean that every Muslim cannot get along with Jews and vice versa.
2. Being from India and/or having last name "Patel" does not automatically make one a Muslim. Maybe they are and maybe they aren't.
3. We shouldn't be overly concerned with religion in the workplace. It is essentially a private matter.

I would recommend that the OP contact her human resources department for guidance if she believes legitimate discrimination is occuring.

I'm old school so let's use chainer's edict (granted it's not that old of a card) How about I use my wizards to tap out and bounce all your lands?

👍

Random fact: The majority of Indians I work with are actually Christian. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

Ur an idiot Ms "Certifed senior tech." Patel's are not Muslim, they are Hindu. Over 80% of Indians are not muslim.

Chances are the Rph's don't like you cause your a ***** and has nothing to do with you being Jewish.

I used to play in HS....maybe because i'm more old school but 4 mana cost for green back then was easy. I once had the option of casting a scaledwurm on first turn (8 mana for 7/6), but decided not to because I know my opponent would forfeit. Instead I cast 2 Juggernaut's (4 mana for 5/3) on second turn, to pressure his black speed.

As for fighting a card like that..........if I know the card is in the deck ahead of time I guess a winter orb+icy manipulator will help stop his regenerate. You can also go heavy on trample, or black land destruction/discard. My old green/artifact will run him over by messing up his mana availability and with large numbers of high damage creatures with trample.

Cool story bro.

Yeah the card isn't the best. Remember though, it's the environment played in that matters. This troll isn't superfantasticawesomeZOMGWTFBBQLAWL in legacy or extended but in the current t2 format it's pretty good. No edict, no wizards, etc. That was the point. Hell if we are talking about vintage then a turn 1 channel fireball kill is called for and I wouldn't even need to drop the troll.

Jeez the second you mention magic everyone immediately goes to the "glory day" cards for vintage/extended. Yes, it's old school and people have 10000x more cards to play with. But that means 10000x more s****y cards to use as well like the troll. He is awesome in t2 though.

Actually I asked, and they are in fact Muslim and both have the last name Patel. Unless they're both making **** up.

1. That's what I was asking. Is there a stereotype that I don't know about?
2. I've asked and they are both
3. I don't care what their religion is, I just want them to treat us fairly.

It's not actual discrimination, it just constantly being dumped on and HR doesn't care. I asked this board's advice because I didn't know what else to do. Sorry to have troubled you.

Maybe I'm a ***** but at least I know the difference between "your" and you're"

I should rephrase that. Last November another tech and I were talking about different religions and who celebrated what and when. He said something about these particular Rph's celebrating Ramadan. I thought Ramadan was a Muslim holiday so I assumed they were Muslim. Looking back on it, I probably shouldn't have put much stock into what this guy said. The whole conversation started when he asked me if Jews celebrated Thanksgiving.

I refuse to believe that any adult in the United States knows NOTHING about the historical conflict between Muslims and Jews. Has the OP never heard of Palestine, the Holy Land, Israel, the PLO, the Munich Olympics, Golan Heights, Gaza Strip, etc, etc, etc? These issues have been at the forefront of world events my entire lifetime.

I'm starting to get skeptical about this story anyway. First the OP said she ASKED the pharmacists about their religion. Then she said she heard it from another technician. 😕

Ya gotta give it to the OP it is a rather interesting troll post. They really broke the mold on this one. They went in a whole other direction than the usual should pharmacists be called Doctor or MD vs PharmD troll posts. I have to give them some credit for at least trying to do something original.

This is the best line ever.
Do the Jews and Muslims have some sort of beef that I'm unaware of?

No, no beef at all. Happines, harmony, hand holding and cooperating is how I would describe the relationship! If the OP is a Jew they must have converted last week to not know the answer to this question.

I thought Ramadan was a Muslim holiday so I assumed they were Muslim.

Actually it's a muslin holiday. Or at least, it started that way, but now they celebrate textiles in all forms.
