Since the RRC and ACGME decided to implement the new "rules" on residency work hours, I'm curious what changes are truly taking (or going to take) place over the next year.
Have any current residents heard about how their institution will implement changes?
Also, will non-night float residencies begin the transition to night float in an effort to ease work hours?
It seems as if the logical answer should be yes, but you never know with departments of internal medicine, where change is often viewed as a bad thing by the gray-hairs running the place.
Anyway, I was just curious if anyone has heard anything yet.
