Rumor: Rads debating eliminating the preliminary year...

Anyone hear this rumor that the radiology board is considering eliminating the transitional/preliminary year requirement?

This thought has been kicked around before. Most recently, about 2 years ago when there was a shortage of radiologists and this was looked at as a way to increase the number of spots available per year. I don't think there is major support for this right now.
