Hey everyone, I am junior doctor in EU working in orthopaedic surgery department. For the past months I am considering switching to diagnostic radiology because I found out I am really interested in diagnostic process and all the tech aspects of it. The work in OR (although interesting) doesnt seem like the right thing to do for me my whole life.
My question is: is there someone who has done something similar? (doesnt have to be ortho - just changing from more clinical subspecialty to DR) What are your general thoughts? Are you happy with the change? Would you do it again? Have you ever missed clinical aspects of medicine later?
Thank you everyone for all the answers :)

People switching from surgical subspecialties to radiology is not all that uncommon here in the US, and they’re usually pretty happy with the change from what I hear anecdotally
