I am not in the rural program at TCOM, but from what I hear, it is pretty unique. They have an ongoing rural track program now with about 20 students in it, but apparently they are taking 10-12 students into a special 4 year program with this next class. I think it includes additional course work and increased rotations, etc, all focused on rural medicine. I think there is research and public health involved in this. It sounds pretty cool. I believe that a Dr. Bowling here at TCOM is in charge of it, you might try sending him an email. He's a good guy.
