Rural surgery elective?

I was hoping to do a month long elective this spring in general surgery with the Indian Health Service in Arizona (Chinle), but just found out the on-site housing is full. Does anyone have experience or advice on other rural general surgery electives (IHS or otherwise)?

I did my general surgery in Fairbanks, Alaska
