Rutgers North DPT waitlist/acceptance

I heard I was wait listed last Thursday. :/
 
Same! I’m wondering when we’ll start to hear about movement on the wait list
 
Hi guys! So usually, the Directors of DPT programs are SUPER helpful about where you are on the waitlist. I would recommend finding out whoever is the Director and emailing them regarding your place on the waitlist. While they may not be able to give you an exact number, they may be able to give you a better idea of whether or not you're near the beginning, middle, or end so you have a realistic expectation of whether or not you will hear from them regarding a change in admission decision.

Definitely keep in mind that every DPT cycle differs in type of applicant and number of applicants applied. That being said, while one year someone in the middle may be granted admission, another student may not be by nature of the large, diverse, or competitive applicant pool.

Thank you so much!! I actually did email the director and she told me I’m in the top third of the wait list but couldn’t give exact numbers. So hoping I still have a decent chance

Thanks for the tip. I just sent an e-mail now and hopefully, I hear back soon. Usually schools don't like telling where you stand on their waiting lists and I'm glad to hear this one is at least willing to give you an idea.

So, I just an e-mail back and she told me they don't have it ranked yet, but they expect movement this year. Maybe I'm reading into to it too much, but since she didn't tell me my stance out of being nice, I'm guessing I'm far back in the waiting list :/

That's very odd that she didn't give you a general idea. But the fact that they "expect movement this year" should definitely give you hope!

I hope you’re right. This is my second try at getting into DPT school and all I've know are waiting lists . But hopefully it's different this year especially with Rutgers. It's my first choice and my Alma Mater, so *crosses fingers*

I'm crossing my fingers FOR you! What has your experience been with waitlists in the past? Have they ever gotten back to you with a change in decision or has it mostly been a glorified rejection? I know I've heard it can go both ways, but i was just wondering if your personal experience with the waitlists pertaining to Rutgers.

Last year, I didn't even get an interview with Rutgers, so at least I'm progressing there. I was put on the waiting lists for Dominican College, SUNY Downstate, and Touro College. None of them would tell me where I stood. So I didn't hear anything from them until I received the rejections over the summer once they started classes. 🙁

Oh okay! Yes you are definitely progressing then! Honestly, do not lose hope because PT programs are odd in that you never know exactly what they are looking for. Sometimes they want repeat applicants. It's so frustrating when PT programs won't tell you where you stand on the waitlist because I know I personally like to have a realistic idea of whether or not I'll be accepted... it's honestly the worst. It is also frustrating that they didn't even give you a definite rejection until over the summer when classes began! I'm so sorry but I'm sure this time will be different. Don't lose hope!!! 🙂

Thank you very much for the encouragement. It's very much needed during this stressful time of interviews and waiting to see if I get accepted anywhere. I really hope this year is different.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm a reapplicant and didn't have an interview with Rutgers last year either, only this year. I'm really hoping there is movement. The waiting is the worst part. Rutgers is definitely my number 1 though
 
So although I have a long way to go before I even think about filling out my application to PT school, I live in central jersey so Rutgers would definitely be a school I’ll be applying to when the time comes but I’m currently in county college and changing majors from business to biology and then want to get my bachelors in exercise science. Just wondering what was your overall and pre req gpa for acceptance into the Rutgers program? So I have some idea what to aim for if I want to apply to Rutgers

I received a phone call and got accepted today!!! I will be attending Rutgers!
 
Hey guys! For all of you that were accepted/waitlisted/interviewed by Rutgers (North), may I ask what the interview was like there? I have my interview coming up and I want to be as prepared as possible as it is my top choice DPT school!
 
Hey congrats on being accepted last year! I am assuming you went through the interview process, may I ask what it was like/what kind of questions they asked/how to prepare for the interview? Thank you!
