Am from upstate NY. Not currently interested in specializing, however, I am aware that that could change. Thank you for your help!

LECOM:
-COA is about 388k
-far from home, would have to fly to see family (3-hour flight)
-PBL learning style
-would have to move to Erie PA or Defuniak Springs during D4
-lots of clinical experience
-beautiful weather

Rutgers:
-COA is about 463k after getting IS tuition after the first year
-about a 4-hour drive from home
-hated the location in Newark when I visited
-more well known
-terrible traffic
-lots of outreach opportunities

cheaper

Lecom, only negative the is the flight home & moving your 4th year. LECOM location is one of the best in the nation IMO. Also, saving $80k is heavenly too.

There is no way Rutgers is that expensive with getting IS after the first year
I think it really is :/ I am currently struggling with this same issue as rutgers I know is a great program but it is so much more expensive than I would have expected it to be as an OOS student.

i have the 2019 data
tuition-
rutgers 1 year oos + 3 years is = $203,328
lecom 4 yrs is/oos = $207,860

total COA-
rutgers $321,141 to 347,454 (i don't know why it didn't give me the same result when i started with is and oos and changed tuition to 1oos/3is)
lecom $371,433

I'm surprised that Rutgers would cost less, given the tuition is practically the same. I would expect cost of living in Bradenton would be less than rutgers

Does this include your travel to and from home? Also if you wind up in Erie for one year, wouldn't that also drop your COA estimate?
