I have been accepted to Glasgow's 5 year program starting in 2025, and also to RVC's 4 year program starting in 2026. These are currently the main two schools I am considering, and I wanted to know what opinions people have of them both. As far as I can tell, tuition will be roughly the same for each full program (I am from the US). I really don't know which one I will pick at this point, and am curious if there are any big differences between them.

Is total tuition still going to be the same for five years of Glasgow vs. four years of RVC? I think your decision boils down to if you'd rather get to school immediately this fall or if you could find something productive/exciting you could do for the year before heading to RVC! Especially since either way between the two, you'd be graduating 2030.

Personally, I'd go for the deferred year with RVC and work during that time to gain experience and some moolah. If you do that, I think you could even apply to other schools during the interim year and weigh your options again for fall 2026.

Something to consider also: Glasgow's first year (I think) might be repetitive for you if you've already done all the usual science pre-reqs.

Congrats!

Hi!
From what I am looking at, Glasgow's 5 year program is actually cheaper tuition wise than RVC's 4 year tuition. You are totally right though there is only at a $20,275.55 different with RVC being the more expensive option.

Personally, I would not mind at all getting to spend an extra year in the UK if I were you <3

I got accepted to Glasgow's 5 year program and RVC's 5 year program but even before hearing from RVC, I was leaning towards Glasgow. From my experience, the Scottish people are so kind and less "posh" haha. From what I hear, both are excellent programs. I think both have nice facilities as well.
