I applied super last minute to RVU-MCOM and got accepted to start this summer. I was a little naive and didn't realize how new this school was when I was applying. I would be part of their 3rd cohort. So no one has graduated from there yet; their oldest cohort is just starting their third year. They also don't have federal loans. And I'm not sure if they'll be using VSLO for 4th year rotations. The RVU system itself seems pretty solid; their Utah and Colorado campuses have good pass rates and match rates, so maybe I can expect the Montana location to be similar, but I can't necessarily rely on that.
I have a decent mcat (510) and lots of hours for clinical (~2k), volunteer (~700), research (~2k), etc. Would I be dumb to reject this A and wait to see if I can get in this cycle to start next year (MD or DO)? I've talked to other (DO) schools and they've said I am competitive for their programs.

is your GPA complete trash? if not, you're definitely competitive for all DO schools and a good portion of MDs. ask if you can defer your MCOM acceptance until next year. but if it was 2024-2025 cycle, that's gonna count as turning down an A if you don't take it and they don't allow you to defer. deferring might result in a binding agreement though... im not too sure. tough spot.

undergrad cumulative is 3.7, so not bad.
it is for the 2024-2025 cycle, so yeah, turning down this A might affect my next cycle. However, I have heard some people who turn down an A and still get acceptances the cycle after, but that might also be entirely dependent on their situation. I'm really struggling with this decision

yeah, it's a tough one. could start 1 year earlier if you're ready to go. if you're not rested and ready, probably worth it to wait.
