RVU vs LECOM or KCU?

Hi all,

I need some insights on choosing a school. Currently, I have been accepted at LECOM-Seton Hill and RVU-Colorado. I interviewed at RVU-utah yesterday.

I still have future interviews in February at Touro-Nevada, KCU, and Cambell

Living on a budget and don't want to waste too much money in deposits holding spots.

I am from California and currently want to do practice EM or Surgery in CA. I am an outdoorsy person.

I loved my time interviewing at RVU. Curriculum seems awesome and students seem enthusiastic about it and supporting each other. Denver seems like a great area to live in as well.

My time at LECOM was okay. Don't like the dress code policy, and no water in lecture, but think I could live with that.

If cost was the same, RVU would be a clear winner; but I'm not sure I can justify 50k tuition and higher cost of living vs the 32k at LECOM

Should I invest the time and money to attend my other interviews?

I know its ultimately up to me to decide, but any thoughts would be helpful.

Only you can decide how much the increased debt means to you. Personally, I would go to the school I had the better vibes from which seems to be RVU in your case. Eother can get you what you want professionally, but being regional to the area you ultimately want to practice in could be beneficial.

I would highly recommend attending your KCU interview.. tuition is cheaper than RVU (~42k I believe) and the curriculum is the same. Plus KC is a super fun city. It may be a good option since you like RVU so much but want a cheaper option.

If you were to decide based solely on the acceptances you have now, I would vote RVU. Sounds like you'd be a lot happier there (Denver > Seton Hill.)

If you need to cancel interviews, I would vote Campbell for sure.. newest school. Touro - NV has a great location if you like big cities and they are implementing a new curriculum that sounds like it will be highly successful. I personally wasn't a fan of the facilities (in a warehouse type of building.. kind of old-ish..) and the students I had show me around didn't seem to be very happy. BUT that's a very subjective observation on my part and it can obviously vary a lot. So long story short, up to you if you want to cancel Touro or not. If you have the money I'd go. You never know.
