I passed the exams and just wanted to share my thoughts on this comparison.

Passnaplexnow > RxPrep >>> APHA review

APHA review I think is pretty crappy actually. I think the people that say its good dont have anything to compare it to. Its like reading the dictionary. Poor organization, outline, and not focused! Even the math section that people say is good sucks. Only half of it (the easier half) is worth doing. The explanations are ******ed compared to other books....they made my life difficult. APHA review is still decent tho...just skim each chapter quickly and do the questions.

Passnaplexnow is much better than Rxprep because its much more thorough (in a good way), and it has less errors. I found Rxprep left alot of good stuff out that passnaplexnow taught. Rxprep is definitely still a good resource.

I didnt buy all these myself, just borrowed...but I'd definitely recommend getting more than APHA review

hope this is helpful

I read a few threads on this forum related to what books to use and looks like most members think that APhA is mostly complete but is very wordy and boring.
Personally, I'm going for RxPrep + prontopass. I will look over APhA for pathophys, do the Qs, but that's it. English is not my 1st language and the sheer volume of material in APhA makes me nervous. I have scheduled the test for Sept end, but I may have to reschedule it depending on Pre-NAPLEX score.
Do what works for you without stressing yourself out, no resource is perfect, there will be Qs on the test about stuff you have never heard of. Give it your best. Good luck!

i totally agree that APHA book is crappy...too much useless information for the exams. I liked RX-PREP book, it's very easy to read and concise and it helped me alot on the CPJE exam...

hi-
I wanted to buy the passnaplex book. Are you selling your book or do you know someone who is?

hi,🙂sometimes if you`re lucky you can buy passnaplexnow on ebay just keep checking everyday, those books usually sold out quickly

I have to agree.

RxPrep >>> APhA and Kaplan.

For the CPJE it has all the information needed to answer the California State Board practice exam questions. It's concise and very high yeild.

Also, it contains a ton of key points (all bolded) throughout the book that APhA doesn't even cover.

I'm done with my copy. Just FYI.

My friends and I had some experience with passnaplexnow. I think it is a good review course but you have to attend the LIVE lectures in Newport beach. The book leaves out a lot of important information that is only covered in the lectures.

My school offers a NAPLEX review in May so I'm not interested in buying any courses.

Which book is the best? (the book by itself, no course)..

Right now all I have is Comprehensive Pharmacy Review and it seem ok, but I have nothing to compare it to. I think I'm definitely going to skip out on the APHA book based on things that have been said on this messageboard.

RX PREP is best do not try anything else.....I spoiled a lot of time on APHA (as a good friend recommend that..lol )....But when I got RX prep I realized how dumb I was...From that day onwards I gave APHA to my cat (pictured) to play with and stick with RX Prep and passed with a very good score .
