For people who did RX first and then UWorld, did they feel that they were able to do UWorld faster and reinforcement of concepts were better because they were now doing it as their second qbank? Compared to if they would have done only UWorld directly.

Rx is largely believed to be more 1st order questions, and good for gauging your grasp of whats in FA. UWorld involves 2nd and 3rd order thinking based on things both in and not in FA (mostly in though). If you 're an MS1, doing all the Rx questions related to class material is a good idea. If you're in your dedicated study period or approaching it, considering going straight to UWorld.

Once you start a second bank, it will definitely be less difficult compared to if you start that second bank cold.
Except for Kaplan..that bank was pretty difficult, regardless of how many questions you had done before.

I'm 4-5 months away and was going to do Rx first to reinforce FA and then maybe Kaplan if time / Uworld. Think it will make getting through Uworld easier/faster as there are so many ways they can ask a question on a topic.

4 to 5 months isn't a lot of time. You may be better off starting UWorld now and doing it twice.

This is good advice.

Rx is good to do now. By 3 months out, start UW, and finish it by one month to two weeks out. During the final weeks, focus on just NBME questions and FA. Don't do UW twice.

really? I know you're the king of Step 1 (meant as a compliment 🙂 so that's why I'm double checking....

People score well with any number of permutations of prep methods. But I would advise against doing UWorld twice. Go through it once thoroughly. End on it late if possible because those questions are the best, but not too late as you want to leave time for calibrating to the NBME question style and cramming FA. If you have time for a second QBank then 110% go that route over doing UWorld twice. The more questions you see the better you'll do on Step 1.

I have 3 months till my test with about 8 weeks left of school. I was planning on doing ~2 blocks of Rx per day and I would be finished with some time left over before dedicated. Then I'll do 1-3 blocks of UW per day in dedicated with Sunday off as catch-up/rest days. I feel like I didn't get a thorough background of all the facts from the beginning because I didn't care about honoring, but I mastered the physiology well. So I feel like pounding Rx out before dedicated will help get those fact juices flowing and then UW will bring it home and make the connections between topics.

What do you think?

You can do it that way if you want, sure. I haven't finished all the NBMEs yet but from that pattern I saw, Kaplan asks the type of NBME questions where 1 out of 10 times if you pick that answer, it would be correct. So it's kind of the "tricky" questions you wouldn't expect. It's definitely the hardest bank and any time you do practice questions, it's going to help you for any future questions (like UWorld).
