AHHHHHHHHH!!! My identity has been STOLEN!!!
Seriously....who stole my name?
I finally got my DSL connection going yesterday - mindspring took a total of 7 weeks from the day my line actually started carrying the DSL signal to get me my modem and line filters. So now I'll be on 24/7 once again.
My Rush interview was GREAT! I don't know exactly how it ended up happening, but all sorts of things just fell into place at just the right time. I interviewed with Jan Schmidt (director of admissions) who is one of the nicest people I have met throughout this whole process. Of the many things we had in common:
- We both love the symphony and the Beatles
- Neither of us understand abstract art
- She was intimately familiar with the Sun Times article I was in
- We both enjoy (but have trouble with) 17th century prose
So while I was expecting a 30 minute interview consisting of the usual interview business, we talked for 90 minutes (!!) about everything but medicine. A few minutes before the end, she asked if there was anything I wanted address in my file and I obviously brought up my 7 in verbal. To my surprise (and delight), we both agreed that the 7 was a fluke and that I'm capable of much better than that.
The second interview was just as good - a biochemist from Russia (I believe) who also loves the symphony and Dostoevski (my fav. author). Although 30 minutes was dedicated to medical conversation, we spent the next 20 talking about Chopin, Rachmaninov, and Dostoevski.
Seriously guys, I feel good about this one. They make decisions on Wednesdays and I should hear from them (according to Ms. Schmidt) by sometime around Feb. 24.
Crossing my fingers...
