Should I order RxPrep and APhA NAPLEX Review Books both or RxPrep is good ENOUGH?

I just ordered RxPrep yesterday, I am thinking of NOT buying APhA book🙂

Give me feedback on this.

I just took my exam today and from the exam it seems like RxPrep is more than enough but make sure you know the book inside out only then it is sufficient.

I wouldn't buy both. I've heard RxPrep is enough which is what I'm doing .I'll supplement what I don't know with the APhA review book because my school library has free online access.

last year, i used rx prep and these study charts:

They all complemented each other well.

I have RxPrep 2012 as well- just be aware of any updated or newly released guidelines, esp CHEST Guidelines and the updated warfarin supratherapeutic INR management, ACC/AHA STEMI Guidelines- etc

Rxprep is all you need to know, but know it inside out & be confident with math

I bought both and RxPrep was MUCH better than APhA

Bought both, and thought RxPrep was extremely better than APhA. APhA is like reading your PT book. RxPrep just told you what you needed and made it simple for you to memorize. Great tables.

The APhA book was the only thing I used for NAPLEX. It was a very comprehensive review. I scored a 107 six years ago, but the exam could be a lot different now. I'm not sure... good luck

APhA had a better math review IMO, I dunno if it got better for RxPrep this year. the 120 SDN calculations were very helpful too. I read both cuz I like details and couldn't be bothered to watch/listen to the RxPrep videos.

I got the APHA book for free and then bought the Rxprep book. I thought the Rxprep book was much easier to study from and was well organized, so I only used Rxprep. I thought the calculation chapter in the 2013 edition was way better than APHA's section on calucations. I also did SDN's 120 calculations. I studied for 9 days, made it through 90% of Rxprep and passed with a 119.

I bought the 2013 Rx Prep and used it. I took the NAPLEX today and A LOT of what the book underlined and stressed was on my exam today. I also used the 120 questions on SDN. I had some other material (top 300 flash cards, notes from school), but they were not helpful. I think Rx Prep + an additional math source would be more than enough. I didn't even make it completely through Rx Prep and I feel really good that I passed.

Im using RxPrep as well and there is a ton of stuff that seems like it would be way too detailed to test on the exam. Do you feel like the NAPLEX focused on big picture stuff, or did they have questions on very specific things as well?

It had big picture and obscure things. I think the majority were big picture. Or at least they should be after 4 years of pharmacy school. Just get your math down and you should be able to remember most of the rest. Anyways, I still don't know if I passed, so I better hold off sharing too much of my opinion.
