Hey guys,

So one of my LOR writers flaked, never wrote the LOR despite multiple VERY polite reminders, and then when she was up for tenure review she was denied again and quit outright, leaving me kinda hanging here. I don't have many other options being a Humanities major, but there is one prof who I connected well with that I would ask instead. The only problem is he's on sabbatical (for the entire academic year!). He's a nice guy and likes me so it's possible he would acquiesce to writing a LOR, but I'm worried about the etiquette involved. It's sabbatical, so maybe I should butt out and ask someone else (I can get someone else to write it, but it would probably just be pretty good and not stellar). What do you guys think?
