Hello all,

I've been reading about that sad story about carlie Brucia in Florida. I just can't get it out of my mind, she seemed like such a nice and friendly individual, why would someone want to just go out and hurt someone like that?!?!? it is beyond me..... how can a person hurt another like that and cause pain to an entire family and community?!?!?

To know that such monsters exist in our world really depresses me..... anyhow, I'm going to say a prayer for Carlie, I hope that wherever she is, she'll be in peace.

Amen

I know, I was so saddened to hear the news...even with the odds against her, I was really hoping that she would be found alive. It really makes me upset too to know that someone could do something like that to such an innocent child...and to add to it, refuse to tell authorities anything.

🙁 I'll say a prayer for her too.

Hi,

What struck me the most was that they found her body right near a church. I heard this on the radio right while my car was stopped next to a statue of the Virgin Mary. The irony of it all was almost overwhelming. I will pray for Carlie as well. Let us all post with our intentions to pray for her. It's the least we can do.

I will say a sincere prayer tonight for that little girl and her family...

What a horrible, horrible shame.

I pray that Jesus will give them comfort in this horrible time, and that His love may guide them throughout the long healing process. I pray that her soul is in heaven, and that she is in a place where no grief and pain exist,...that she is in a place where no harm can come to her any more...

You know, everytime I see something on the news about a child either being abducted or killed, I really wonder: why do people do things like this to small, innocent children? What benefit is there to harming someone? to taking an innocent life?

Such a shame...

Unfortunately, aggressive (violence) is woven into our DNA. In nature, aggression is part of life. In human society, we try to prevent it. That's what jails are for: to keep aggressive individuals separated from the rest of us.

This probably won't make you feel better, but it may help to answer where the violence comes from. It is a side effect of millions of years of fighting to survive.

Why did she just go with that man. She was not 2 years old. I am not saying she deserved it, but I think she could have tried to prevent him from holding her hand and walking her to her death. Why isn't the media addressing that aspect of the crime? What are people teaching their children? Nonetheless, I will send my wishes of strength to her family.

Also, her "father" and his television speech was a bit shocking to me. He should have respected the rest of the family's right to privacy and waited. He turned her death into something about himself. He didn't seem hurt at all...🙁

I didn't see the father's speech. But I can pretty much assume that finding out your kid was murdered (and God knows what else) can be overwhelming. I am sure he's very hurt, but I don't think my reaction would be to cry my eyes out in front of a bunch of television cameras. That I would do in the privacy of my own home.

But I do wonder about the first thing you said. Who knows what he whispered in her ear those first two seconds or if she was just so stunned she forgot to react but my 11 yr old sister was in somewhat the same predicament a couple yrs ago and she knew enough to scream bloody murder and fight for her safety. But then again, she has 4 older siblings and has learned the hard way to defend herself.

Anyway, I hope that little girl rests in peace and the dude who did it pays with his life.

If you watch the video, he walked right up to her and it's hard to see what's going on. However, police have speculated that he might have shown her a gun. If that's true, that would explain why she didn't resist.

He saw her twice a year and now "she can see me every day." I don't know about him...
