I graduated from a pretty competitive undergrad small liberal arts college (Williams, Haverford caliber) with a 3.3 gpa. I am now looking to apply to post bacc programs. I have heard tons of different things about how competitive most of them are- I would definitely like to get some safety-ish schools but don't really know which ones to put in that category. Does anyone have any idea?

I'm guessing you're referring to the hyper-competitive Bryn Mawr, Hopkins, Scripps etc. programs. While those might be tough to get into you'd have a great shot at other programs like Columbia, NYU, Penn, Harvard Extension however you'll give up lots of personal attention and phenomenal med school acceptance rates as these programs are much larger. That being said you can easily do an informal postbacc at you local university. People have been successful following all paths, it really depends on what you put into it. :luck:

That's great. I'm not even just referring to the hyper competitive ones. I was talking to a few people and having a hard time understanding just how competitive ANY of these programs are. I thought I could easily get into the UConn program, but then heard that is quite competitive. I was just totally unsure what the deal was... Thanks!

The top postbac programs are harder to get into than med school in many cases.

I'm not asking what the hardest programs are or how competitive the top programs are. I am curious to know what programs are not as competitive to get into- the "safety" schools.

Columbia typically admits anyone with a 3.0, a pulse, and money in their bank account.

Quoted for truth. But if you do get through it intact you will actually get a great committee letter and have a nice app. 👍
