Can anyone tell me about their interview experience at Salus/PCO? My interview is coming up in a week.

My interview at Salus was so great! Parents/guests are welcome and its a lot of walking so sensible shoes are an obvious must! You start with a long information meeting all as one group and then you will have your one on one and talk about your file. Everyone is so nice I really wouldn't worry. Then you tour the eye clinic (off campus so you travel by bus) and come back for lunch (they give you a voucher) and then you finish touring the actual campus and thats it! Nothing to worry about and no surprises. They told me I should hear back in about two weeks. Good luck! PS: They also give you really cool pens 🙂

It's almost been 2 weeks for me since the interview and I have not yet heard back from Salus, should I be worried? The waiting game is killing me

I don't think you should be worried! They told me two weeks and for me that would be Friday and I still haven't heard! I think it depends on when the committee meets-they will get back to you regardless and if you are worried you can always call!

The questions were super standard! I just googled common interview questions for Optometry school--nothing that you need to prepare for but the last question will be similar to a Casper test question (although I'm sure they might change them up a bit?). Best of luck to you also!

Thank you! One last thing, did they ask a lot of gpa/oat scores? I already took the CASPer test and that was not too bad at all.

I'm sure it will depend on your personal statistics. I would tell you if you think theres a weak area in either your gpa or your OAT then definitely be prepared to talk about it. It's super conversational so its not a judgmental conversation, just explain what happened in that area and thats it!

Did they address certain areas of your application in particular during the interview? But yes calling would be a good idea, everyone in my group heard back in about 3-4 days. What type of experience have you had/your GPA and OAT if you dont mind me asking.

I wouldn't worry! One school explained to me that it really depends on when you interview, if its a date close to the committee meetings then you will hear back soon, but if you interview on a date thats a few weeks away from the meeting date then it will take longer! They cant meet every day after each interview group so it definitely goes in intervals. Best of luck, let me know if you get in and will be attending 🙂 You're doing all the right things so don't stress.

I just got my correspondence letter from them, I'm on hold until they see my midterm grades [emoji854] I guess because the weakest part of my app was my GPA. I did finish my degree already but I'm taking graduate level courses now
