Basically, with all the posts about chance me, and advice being thrown around, would you guys say that the people here on SDN are accurate rep. of the population applying? For instance anything less than 3.20 is considered low here on SDN and a DAT of 20 is considered, by the way people regard it, as slightly below average. Any thoughts?
Furthermore, do you guys think that dental schools cut people by numbers? Like will someone with a 3.00, 18 DAT have a chance of being thrown out without regards to the rest of the app?

Well, some schools do look at GPA and DAT score first. There are schools that look at the application as a whole. Every school varies. Also, I don't think the SDN community is an accurate representation of the entire applicant pool.

Maybe not the applicant pool, but I think is a good representation of the "accepted applicants pool" Follow SDN standards, and you have a good chance at dental school.

👍

There's fewer than a hundred people who are applying and actively post on SDN. Based on threads by each cycle's end, it's extremely rare for anyone that's SDN-competitive to not receive an acceptance (unless they're internationals).
