After reading interview feedback and someone said "the admissions director then talked with us about how we were all 1s (every applicant is rated a 1, 2, or 3) and that they had not started interviewing 2s"

Does anyone know how this rating system works and if it is true? And if it is true does anyone know when they started interviewing 2s?

this is exactly what the dean told us at my interview. it was way back in early august. i would imagine they're interviewing everyone now. 🙂

I'm going to then assume I was a 2... because I interviewed a while ago but it was not mentioned to us that we were 1s...

I've been told I've been recomended for an interview, but still have not recieved anything in the mail. I would guess I'm a 3 then. So I guess this puts me lower on the totum poll. When did you intervew Megalofyia?

Did he happen to mention anything more? Like the likelyhood of acceptance if you were a 1, 2, or 3?

Just for everyone who is now really worried about this ranking system. I do happen to know someone who was interviewed Dec 9th last year who was accepted Feb 1st this year as an MS 1.

I am interested though in this 1, 2, 3 system as this is the first I have heard of it.

I believe his name was Dr. Jones and he was very cordial. I wish I could remember what he said about those rankings during his talk. I could have sworn he said we were all 1's when our app came across his desk, but I thought he was just telling all to each group of interviewers every week.

Nope at some point he stopped discussing the 1,2, 3 thing.

yeah, but the ranking assumes everyone applies at the same time.....

what if you're a "1" but your app was late?

no...see i thought he told everyone that as well. he just mentioned something to the effect of, all the applications are read by the committee and they assign the application a 1, 2, or 3. 1's are definite automatic invites, and 2's and 3's (i can't remember exactly what the distinction was b/t the two) are held for further review. he didn't correlate it to chances of acceptance - it seemed more about the timing of the interview. i agree w/the above poster - it's not about chances of acceptance, i would think, b/c i'm sure there are several stellar august applicants who'd easily be "1s" . don't worry too much about it--i'm sure you'll be fine!
