2025-2026 Long (UT Health San Antonio)

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Also hope to see some of you at one of the Long Luncheons!! Good luck to everyone else interviewing/awaiting an II!!:xf:

Do all IS applicants receive the confirmation email from Long? To the people receiving the II, did you all receive confirmation email? Thank you!!

Any II for OOS so far? May have just missed them!

yes, I did after my app was verified and transmitted to the schools by TMDSAS.

Interviewed at Long on Friday, and I just want to say that it was an incredible experience! Everyone I interacted with made me feel welcomed and valued, and they really emphasized wanting the day to be informative and laidback. It was a great time, and I genuinely have zero negative feedback. Best of luck to those hoping for or awaiting their interviews! :biglove:

Ah okay! My committee letter is going in this Friday so maybe there's hope for me haha. Thank you for your reply!!
Hi!! this post aged quite well and I got an interview invite haha. Does anyone know how much attending the Long Luncheons impact your chances of getting in? Has anyone been admitted without attending one? I have a limited number of PTO days at work and I live OOS so it would cost a lot to fly out to San Antonio. I would absolutely love to go, but I need to weigh how much it'll actually increase my chances. I have... limited funds. Thank you!

Attending is not a factor in your admissions chances, it’s for your chance to see the city & the school if you are not familiar with it

+1 just finished interviewing at Long and it was FUN. The faculty and students put such intentionality into the day that made for a really welcoming environment. If you get an II here you're definitely in for a treat!

Can't agree more; my best interview experience so far!

I started a clinical position a few months ago (after submitting TMDSAS). I already talked about it with one of my interviewers, but was wondering if I should send an update letter now about it just to let the admissions committee know. Is now a good time to send a letter since prematches start in 2 weeks?

No reason if you talked about it in the interview
But if you wanna send a love letter to them you can

Does anyone know if you only create a password for the portal after getting an II? I was checking through schools see if they accept update letters when I realized I did not create a login for Long and could not find a link in my email. So I looked up the AMP portal on and the first thing that popped up was a congratulations for getting an II (I did not get an II lol). Just curious, as I was not sure if we can upload the pre-II updates here or not

From website:

"If you have updates to your application after submission, please email your update to [email protected] in PDF format and name your document “Last Name, First Name, TMDSAS ID, Document Title”.
Interviewed applicants may upload update documents via the interview portal."

You have an AMP portal created for Long because they have received your application (you can find a copy of the app received email under communication status), but it is really not meant to be utilized until you have received an II. Hence the congrats message on the front page.

Thanks for the info, I figured that was the case but wanted to confirm. Appreciate it.

How do we know if the schools are still interviewing?

Not all schools are the same, but most of the TMDSAS schools sent out their final round of invitations in December last year.
A few sent out 1 last batch in January, including Long SOM.

Yeah, I remember seeing a prematch post followed closely by an II post.

Oof, I didn’t even get the “In-Review” email… do you guys think that’s a bad sign? I interviewed here last cycle and was really hoping I might get invited again 😞

Received an update email. Love the schools that do this!

Hello _____,

We wanted to send this correspondence to remind you that your application is in the status "In Review." We realize it is a long cycle, and that alone creates a world of anxiety, so please hang in there! Keep working toward your goals, keep doing your activities, and your path will continue to hold meaning and value.

Just so you remember some other details, we copied your first "We received your application" email below.

All the best,

Dr. K and the A Team
