does anyone know how many interviews san antonio has granted (especially how many of those have been granted to out-of-staters)? i have an interview there on nov. 13 and i'm an out-of-stater and i'm just wondering what my chances are like... thanks!

sorry to break it to you.. but texas schools are tough to get into. they accept around 10 in the entire state (3 schools).

thanks for the heads up... i've got pretty good dat scores (25AA/20PA) and a pretty good gpa (3.6) and i'm wondering if there are any other out-of-state applicants headed down there. do you think i'm just wasting money going down there for my interview? thanks for the response.

when I interviewed , there was one guy from boston and one guy from oklahoma

Our class has about 6 out of staters, all from BYU, interestingly enough.

i went on a tour of utdb-houston and i believe one of the tour guides (i forgot his official position) said there was only about 1 out-of-state admitted this year. i had no idea dental schools give greater preference to in-state residents. it's too bad i live in tx. TX was never a place i considered to go to dental school.

If you go down to the Riverwalk, there is an ice cream shop that sells the best frickin' Mango Ice Cream north of the Rio Grande, dude. That alone aught to make it worth your trip. 😀
