Hey guys,

i just discovered iv been invited to san antonio (my letter got lost in my parents mail)..i was just curious how many ppl they interviewed at a time? and was the interview that bad? i read some of the reviews on hte interview feedback section and it sounds brutal....

The interview has about 10-12 people from what I remember. My experience was really laid back and conversational. You have one student interview and one faculty interview. It's not bad at all. Just be yourself and have a positive outlook (despite what some of the interview feedback posting may say). Good luck!

thanks, you comforted me a lot 🙂

How long ago did you apply and how did you receive word of your invite when your letter got lost?

i sent my secondary in like the second wk of aug i think...and i didnt lost my letter...it just took a detour...my dad always stalls before actually going throu his bills and ohter mail...so my letter was amongst all those lovely dollar signs 😛..and he found it this wkend...just in time too..they assign you an interview date and you have to respond by a certain date to confirm, so i almost missed my date!

does anyone know the board pass rate for san antonio? or the graduation rate?

I dunno about the passing rates and stuff (although I should have asked), but I just had the San Antonio interview on Nov 19. There were 14 interviewees including myself. We just watched presentations till about noon, had lunch with 2 fourth years which took us on tours of the school and then dropped us off at our interviews at the designated time. One faculty interview and one student interview( my student interviewer was so frickin' hot 😍 ... it made it much easier for me lol). It was really conversational. For my faculty interview we ended up talking about various types of music and food, he asked me like 2 "real" interview questions. It was a good experience. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

On a side note... I have Baylor on Wednesday. THAT one I'm scared about.

Just read all the reviews/feedback for SA and you will be fine. Look at the ones for this year because all of them have great info.

In my interview we had 14 people and I am pretty sure they interview 12-14 each Monday. I thought the presentation was helpful and gave some great info about the cost and other stuff I didn't know. They provide lunch, and the lunch was just OK like everyone says, but I was happy to have it anyway. Again, like everyone says, the school has its good and bad points. I enjoyed the fact that the campus is nice and away from downtown, there is parking and housing near the school, and the bays for your operatories were not in one big open room. The interviews were easy and conversational. Some people had faculty that were not even dentist, which I think people posted about on the feedback... You can read about their experience there... Good too read about that, because not all of the experiences were positive... And the essay at the end of the day was a nose bleed... be sure to read the question carefully... I know two people in my interview had too re-write their essay because they didn't read the question correctly and then they were hurried in their replies. Last thing you want is to feel bad about the end of the day... Otherwise enjoy the visit and be proud that you got that far. Good luck!

Essay??? There is a written essay at the end of the interview day?

Yes, there is a written essay. It's only a page though, not too tough.

Oh dear god!! Please let it be a subject matter that I'm familiar with! I wonder if everyone gets the same essay question???

everyone doesn't get the same essay...its really simple questions like explain your extracurricular activities...don't sweat it

A subtle way to verify whether the ps had some help or it was from the real McCoy.
