Maybe it is just me, but does anyone else find the SAT score section on some secondaries to be presumptuous? Not that I did terrible on them, but I don't think they reflect how hard I've worked in college.

any thoughts?

I think that is the point

i still dont believe that they would ask that at all...

It's to see how well/poor you have done on standardized tests so that they have more to work with in that area than the MCAT.

the mcat should be enough...AAMC makes it difficult for a reason

What school was this for? I don't remember being asked my SAT scores...

jefferson and VCU ask for them...not sure if they're optional at VCU but they are at Jefferson.

I feel bad not entering them, I just don't think their relevant to begin with

Oh damn, I had like 1200 out of 2400, started math from the scratch in college I hope it's just to see how much applicant improved since highschool and nothing else.

I think his point is that the SAT, like the MCAT, is a test of your critical thinking skills and academic aptitude, so if you did poorly in school and had a good SAT score, that might make them look at your app more closely just as a high MCAT/low GPA would.

I never really studied that seriously until college myself. My college entrance exam scores were nothing special. I was surprised when I saw them requested on my secondaries. I hope that they are just used for data / statistics and not part of our evaluation, but they probably are.

Exactly this for me too. Same score and same hopes. 😱

Maybe only schools who get a ton of apps do this? This should be investigated 😳

If yes then it's just another way to thin the herd I guess...

Haha, the last thing we need is college seniors retaking the SAT

I think VCU actually does take it into consideration somewhat.
