Saving on Taxes with a Pharmacists Salary?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
DUDE:

1) I don't live with my parents
2) I don't work in retail
3) I never worked in retail as a pharmacist

I think you seriously have me confused with someone else, half your posts about me don't make sense.

Someone who completed a residency needs to brag about getting a retail PRN job?

4) I've never even applied for a retail job...or a retail PRN job

you got the residency part right, though

keep going, this is kind of fun...

Right...you didn't apply but all of these retail recruiters are offering you PRN jobs. Everybody knows you right?

Yup, cuz they're hospital recruiters too, and I get paid $500 if I refer a candidate (retail or hospital) that ends up getting hired. So flood my inbox all you want, recruiters of all walks of life are welcome!

And it's retail...they'll offer you a job even without you asking. I was half-drunk at a social event the other week and tried to get sweet-talked into working PRN.

You are God. People are desperately looking for a job and you got one without going even applying for one. No retail experience? No problem. If it was someone else, I would have said that is BS.

stop flattering me. if you were there you woulda gotten sweet talked too.

(what they probably neglected to tell me was that the prn job was probably in a crap location with a crap staff and for a pay rate of way less than what i make now, haha)

in fact, i'm at work right now getting paid to argue with you and everyone else. hahah, win.

It's around noon on friday. Why the hell are you guys surfing web and chattering online like DOPs? Get back to work!!! :meanie:

Winning! I have been called twice this week by recruiters and got offers of several PRN shifts. Really glad I kept my PRN status with Target because I've been buying a crap ton of stuff for my new house and the discount is awesome.

Fixed that for you! 😉

And work, what work? I just got back from having lunch with my husband on the deck of our new house, watching our new swing set installation. A few more hours in the office and it's time to go home and unpack boxes. I don't know if that's 😀 or 😱.

There's a lot of holes in your story. The retails have their own recruiters so why do they need some random recruiters to do their job? These random recruiters are not even in the position to offer you a position. I know you are God's gift to pharmacy but no one is going to offer you a job without an interview.

There is nothing wrong with doing retail. It is a hard job and very competitive nowadays.

You do know there is a difference between telling you there is a position and actually offering you a position right?

Huh? Did I say I was offered a position? I did get two interview offers, which I declined because I'm not looking for a new position. Sorry to be so confusing for you.

Nope - agency placement for retail outfits also place into hospital.

True, but c'mon...if you're fanning out to recruiters, you'll take any bloke with a pulse and a clear license.

Hard job yes... but it would have meant 2x the work and ~$16,000/yr less in pay for the equivalent I'm getting on the hospital side. AND I get to sit in a chair and post on here. AND it's a non-profit, you know where I'm going with that statement :naughty:

Hey does that Target discount stack with the 5% red card discount? Cuz that would be...awesome.

And work, what work?

It's discharge friday....wahooo, i have my residents doing things.

That was back in 2003. Even Alaska is saturated nowadays. But of course you are special.

I get it. Reading comprehension is hard. 🙁

The calls were from recruiters looking to fill positions. They weren't emails. One of them is someone I've worked with before. I'm not sure how the other got my contact information, but I'm always happy to network.

The PRN shifts were offered by the place I work PRN. I didn't pick up any of the shifts because I've been busy moving this week.

Edit: you don't understand the difference between a PRN shift and a job offer???
