For the past few years, I have been doing research in a field that is of interest to me. I think I'd like to further explore this in medical school. Right now, I am looking for a job to cover bills, and I have gotten interview offers from positions that are totally unrelated to the field that I have been working in and that I declared an interest in on some of the essays in my application. My med school applications are centered around this field, and this field is part of my overall application theme. If I go for one of these other jobs, will people question why I didn't stay in the field for this upcoming year? I would prefer to continue working in my field of interest, but I have not heard back from the positions I applied for.

At the same time, I realize that my mind might be changed in school. I will go in with an open mind. It's just that I have enjoyed my work over the past few years.
