If you were an overnight at a store going to reduced hours and you were being told to either take another overnight at another store or go back to floating, which would you pick? The risk being that they could adjust the other 24 stores too and you'd be risking unemployment again.

I would think an full-time job would be more stable than floating (where you will probably get less than full-time hours.) Granted your new overnight job might be cut back at some point.....but anything can happen in the future. The only other thing to consider is where is the new overnight position? I'd assume it would be closer to your house than any pharmacy you would potentially be floating to, but maybe not. In which case, if you were going to have to move or drive 2 hours each way to work or something, that would be a reason to consider floating.

True I want to ride the 7 on 7 off train as long as possible and commute is under 45 so not bad at all still, hate walking tightrope tho constantly worried gonna be cut anytime

My worst career decision was leaving overnights. Live the dream as long as you can.

Every pharmacist not in management position is worried about that, whether on 3rds or not. If you were floating, you would have to worry about getting enough hours (and you probably wouldn't.) If you had a normal shift, you would still have to worry about your store losing hours.
