Which of the two should i use? Or should i use neither and stick to Kaplan/Achiever/Destroyer combination?

i would suggest using as much as you possibly can. Kaplan, Achiever and Top score will give you a good foundation for all the sections. Once you feel as though you have given your self a strong base in all the Science sections i would then tackle the DAT Destroyer. I hope this helps and good luck with your studies!

Barrons is very iffy...lots of incorrect info. Has some useful hints for PAT tho. I think each study resource has worthwhile info in it, you just have to be willing to sort out what you personally can get out of each one.

If you have the time schaums is really good for just about all of the detail you need to know for the DAT. It definitely goes way overboard, but the problem is that you never know what type of random questions the ADA might send your way. If you are shooting for those high 20's I would highly recommend it. Good luck

The trick to the DAT is knowing how to study. That's why I found Kaplan to be so helpful. It focused my study for Bio so that I could just go through my textbook to help on subjects I wasn't good on. Schauums was useless in my opinion and Barrons provided good PAT study tips -- although don't try answering any of the questions because they are so very wrong.

But for all the Kaplan bashing around here, I only used Kaplan and my gen bio textbook and scored a 28 in bio -- 100 %ile. So it's not WHAT you use. It's HOW you use it.

I just picked up Schauums used off amazon for cheap. In my opinion it wasn't even worth the little amount I paid for it. It's not really bad, maybe just something about the way it is written. I am just going to go over my textbooks and notes to review biology.
