Hey ya'll,

Planning on taking my MCAT July 6th. So that literally gives me two months from today. Do you guys think this schedule will prepare me well enough (i.e. 7 1/2 hours a day) or should their be more studying put into it?

__ 9:30am-11:00 - Bio
__ 11:00-11:30 - Break
__ 11:30-1:00 – Organic
__1:00-1:30 - Break
__ 1:30-3:00pm - Physics
__ 3:00-3:30pm – Break
__ 3:30-5:00 – Verbal
__ 5:00-5:30pm - Break
__ 5:30-7:00pm - Gen Chemistry

IMO you should do some verbal passages and then try and focus on one subject each day (content review+ lots of pratice problems). Also, this belongs in the MCAT forums, where you can find lots of advice. And finally, don't take the test until you're ready and are scoring your desired average on the AAMC full lengths. It is crucial to take as many full lengths as possible under timed conditions. With that said, everyone's study schedule is different based on knowledge of the content, ideal score, test taking ability etc. AAMC full lengths are the best indicator of where you stand. SN2ed has lots of helpful threads you should checkout. Also, do not burn out!!!! Your study schedule may look great on paper but once you start doing it you realize you've overwhelmed yourself. Don't be like me and have to retake!

^^ I see no exercise in this schedule. 😎

Also, what are your strengths/weak areas? I'd put more time into whatever you need more work on at this point. I doubt you're exactly =% on each section?

This. About half of med students are hard science majors. If you are, you won't need to study your "area of expertise" as hard as some of the other areas. So a bio major probably should spend less time on bio and more on chem and physics. And verbal (ughh).

Oh also, I don't know how the test has changed since I took it 4 years ago, but studying orgo is almost too low-yield to bother.

Thanks for the advice everybody. I realized that making a schedule like that wouldn't work too well after I read what you guys said and thought about it more. I'll just focus on maybe two subjects a day and go hard on the subjects I really don't know. Two months out from today is test day! Wish me luck! 😀
