Hey guys-

So I have been very fortunate to receive interviews to two schools I would love to attend. I scheduled one a few weeks ago and Im flying out of state for the interview on friday.
Today, I got another interview invite from a school in the same city. They also only offer friday interviews.

Would it be possible to request an interview the same day? (essentially, two interviews in one day?) Would schools think this is rude?

I would love to give each school a day to fully tour and learn more about it but, Its just much easier since theyre in the same city and ill save on traveling costs.

thanks for any input. 🙂

If the times don't clash, I don't see why you can't, but I doubt that one school will do the morning and the other will do the afternoon.

i haven't heard anyone mention afternoon interviews or being able to choose a time. i guess you never know if you have a circumstance like this. i kinda doubt it though. they usually have the day pretty well planned for you.

Michigan has morning and afternoon interviews you can choose from

From your post it seems like you are thinking of skipping a major portion of the interview day such as the tour, QA lunch sessions, financial portion (if the schools you are interviewing at have that). If so, I personally think it would look bad to leave. You are under review the entire day and people are watching what you do and seeing your interest in their program even if they say you can relax and not worry anymore. Walking out early will make you look very disinterested maybe even a little rude to the school. I know what you mean about cost though. It is tough for me as well, as I am sure it is for a lot of others.

BUT if it is just a limited interview and not an interview day, I think it would be fine, just be sure not to be late.

It's tough because some interview days are short -- only a couple of hours -- and some interview days take the most of the day. Personally, I think it would be very difficult to attend two interviews on one day, even if you could somehow schedule them so that one was in the morning and one in the afternoon. I don't think you would do your best at either one. During interview A you'd probably be worrying about interview B taking place in a couple hours! Better to spread them out so you are at peak performance for both interviews.

See if you can get in Thursday or Monday and just change your inbound/outbound flight to match. You might have to eat one plane ticket but that is better than having to buy another round trip ticket to the same city. That is exactly what I did and I have interviews on Dec 2 & 3 😀.
