I did a quick search and couldn't find anything.

I'm taking animal physiology, orgo and physics in the fall. I was thinking of scheduling all 3 labs for the same day. It's Thursday so I'm betting my lab reports wouldn't be due until the following Monday. I have no lectures on that day, either. Like, for me right now, taking just one summer class at a time, we have lab 2-3 times a week and every day we have lab I feel wiped out. I think having it all in one day would help me better focus on the lecture materials on lecture days and on the lab stuff on Friday/over the weekend.

Thoughts?

Are they back to back?

I'd get really cranky if I didn't at least have time for a quick meal/caffeine break in between.

how long is each one and which ones are graded?

My orgo lab was 5 hrs long. Physics lab is 3 hrs where I'm currently taking it. My (human) physiology lab was 2 hrs. All my of lab reports were due in the next class period.

We are going to need more information to determine whether or not this is a wise plan. Obviously for me it wouldn't be (10 hrs of lab back-to-back on a Thursday would be insane... though, I don't even think that was an option).

1) How long as the labs for each class? I've not heard of an orgo lab being shorter than 4 hrs.

2) Are these labs each their own class or are they factored into your class grade? At some schools labs are their own separate class and at yet others they are built into the class (class and lab only count for one class NOT two).

3) Are any of these mandotary pass/fail labs? Again some schools force labs to be pass/fail.

Hi,
As far as I can tell:
1) Each lab is 3 hours.
2) The labs are factored into my class grade.
3) Yeah they seem to be mandatory pass, so I have to pass the lab to pass the course.

I'm going to assume that they are all mandatory attendance and each have a graded pre-lab and lab report with them, because that's how chem has been. Everything will probably make up 15-20% of my course grade. I've heard my physics lab report will be due within 24 hours of the lab (so on Friday) but I think the others will be due within 48 hours so I think I'll have until Monday.

But yeah it would be about 9 hours of lab. But I figure it would sort of concentrate my lab work into the end of the week and I can focus on my lecture for the latter part of the weekend and the early week (I'd get Tuesday off too).

The other option I'm considering is moving either physics or orgo lab to Tuesday.

My current chem TA seems to think it's doable. But since I've never done it before, I don't know. I don't really mind the labs I've had now, but I'm in the very very beginning (Bio 1 and 2 and Chem 1 done).

Given this information. I'd take option B and move orgo lab to Tuesday and have your other labs on Thursday.

I definitely think all three in one day is do-able. However, in the words of Chris Rock: "Just because it can be done doesn't mean you should do it. Hell, you can drive a car with your feet it you want to, that don't make it a good f***ing idea."

You'll absorb more and have more time spreading labs out a bit. Orgo lab will drain you more than the rest so I think it's a good idea to have it on a separate day.
