I applied to take the DAT this week & I just received the eligibility email. I didn't realize there was a 6 month window & I will not be ready before then. Is there anything I can do to get myself out of this? Postpone, get a refund, reapply, etc... whatever works.

Same thing happened to me. I emailed them a couple of times because I was going to be out fo the country in that window. The finally sent me a message for a time window for when I needed it. Try that.

You can reschedule. Fees are:

24 hours-5 business days prior to exam date: $100
6 to 30 business days prior: $60
31+ business days prior: $25

They moved the 6 month period all together? & did you just email the ADA?

I don't think there's a way to get a refund because the DAT Guide states that if you don't test during this 6 month period, you'll have to forfeit your application & fee & submit a new application & fee.

The best way to go about this is to call or email ADA & tell them your situation.

I agree, this is what stated on the ada website in their guide book.

This is what is stated on page 18 of the guide book.

"After your application has been processed, you will be
eligible to test for a six (6) month period. If you do not
schedule a testing appointment and take the DAT during
this period, you will have to submit a new application and
fee in order to take the test."

Hope this helps, I guess they can always make an exception.

Take care..Nancy

I told them that I would not be in the country during their assigned date and I needed to have it moved ahead along with I apologize etc etc.. good luck!

Thank you!

Alternatively, has anyone tried scheduling their DAT and then moving it beyond the assigned time period? Is that feasible?

I am in a similar situation! Can someone tell me how I can extend my eligibility by 6 months? Any help would be appreciated, thank youu
