I hope this isn't a repeat thread--or for that matter, a stupid one. I looked through the archives and didn't see anything...
I'm working on constructing a schedule for 4th year. I have 5 electives, and I have a feeling that OB/GYN is going to be the direction I take for residency, though I'm not sure. My first question is this: what is the latest I could schedule an elective at one of my programs of interest before I need to submit my application? I have seen dates anywhere from October to November for application due dates. Do I have an extra month or so after the application is in to spend some time somewhere I haven't been before?
And that leads me to my next question: how does the interview timeline work? When do interviews begin and end? Is there any way to tell when my interviews will be so I can schedule some vacation time?
