My wife is pregnant which is great news. The only catch is that her due date is May 29. When should I take the boards balancing the newborn baby? My school gets out May 11. With this much notice I could gear up to take them early say May 21 and hope the baby isn't born on that day. Is that enough time to prepare if I study during next semester? Or is this a pipe dream? The alternative is to push the date back into mid-June. I must take them by June 22 because our rotations start July 2.

Any advice?

Not a chance that having a newborn around will help...by the middle of June, you'll be horribly sleep deprived and distracted. Definitely aim for before the arrival date, and hope for an on-time delivery. My son was born the day after I took the MCAT. I probably would not have even gotten into medical school if he had come any earlier. BTW - Congrats!
