Looking for some advice: by the end of this month I’ll have attended 8 interviews. I currently have one scheduled 11/6, but due to the OOS interview costs I’ve already racked up, I’m wanting to cancel this one (plus it’s my most expensive school). I have a couple more MD scheduled later on (and 1 not scheduled yet) and I haven’t scheduled my DO ones yet. However I’m just weary on cancelling anything until I have an acceptance on hand (currently on 1 WL). Should I try to reschedule the one next month or just plan to attend/cancel? Hoping to also hear from a couple more schools this month I interviewed at earlier.

If this is relevant at all, I also have silence from 4/8 of my IS schools, which I would gladly attend if granted an II due to minimal travel costs.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Don't cancel the 11/6 interview now, rather see if you can reschedule it for another month further out. You can cancel the new date if you have an acceptance by then, or even reschedule once again.

follow up question: if im unable to reschedule my DO interviews to farther out (one is basically telling me to schedule in november), would I be safe enough to cancel these? Im holding on until as long as possible, but I would rather save my funds to attend my MD interviews and the DO II each would cost me like $200-$300+ for travel and lodging:arghh: just feeling a lil overloaded

The general consensus is to never EVER cancel interviews before an acceptance. I was in your shoes last cycle, and there were two schools I was contemplating on. I was so sure I was going to get into this one school, and so to cut down costs, I figured I might as well cancel all my other interviews. Good thing I didn’t, because I was rejected to the one school I was positive I would’ve gotten an acceptance, and accepted to the two I almost cancelled. So please, I’m begging you, find some way to make ends meet. It would be a TERRIBLE idea to cancel any of your interviews

Yeah, it's just tough (financially and mentally). I guess Im just being optimistic thinking I'll get into at least one of my MD II and could forego my two DOs. I'll just try to hold out as far as I can before buying flights. I appreciate your response though!
