Hello all,
My coursework for MCAT will be done by this spring. I am not quite sure if I can take MCAT in August because my baby is due in August 🙂 👍 . So, I will be ready to go including the kaplan review I am planning to take but I am not sure when to actually take MCAT. I could wait till Jan 2008 or take it early in July 2007.

The other Q I have is when to start applying. I would like to have some shadowing experience before I apply and I not real clear on when I should start applying. I am a non-trad so, I don't need to wait till I complete a degree. If I take MCAT in July when do i apply? If I take it in Jan 2008, when do I apply?

Thanks!

If you want to enter medical school in 2008, you need to take a 2007 MCAT. I don't believe many schools will accept the Jan test for the class entering that fall. (Some will but the majority won't). The problem is that with the Jan test, the earliest your scores will be available is Feb. That is very late in the cycle to get a review and schedule an interview.

If you've finished your pre-reqs and the Kaplan course by July 2007, that's when I'd take it. I'd have my application ready to go that summer, too.

Thanks, ed2brute! I think it will best if I can pull this off in July. Is there a good website for checking MCAT registration dates etc.?
