So, here's where I'm at.... Currently I'm a sophomore Biochemistry major, for which I need Calc 1-3 along with all the normal pre reqs to graduate with my degree. If accepted to med school I will matriculate in fall of 2016 and I would like to take the old MCAT in January of 2015 so that means I have 2 semesters of classes left to get everything done. Scheduling is working out fine so far for everything except my physics sequence, which will mess with my calc sequence. To take the january MCAT it will require me to take a 2 semester break from calc for physics.

So I guess my question is, is it a bad idea to take a 2 semester break from calc to take physics 1 & 2 and then jump back into calc 3. And is this worth it to take the old MCAT?

Btw, I know this is something I should probably ask my advisor, but class registration starts soon and all of her time slots are filled.... perks of going to a large university I guess.......

I'm sort of in the same position as you. I'm also a sophomore who debated on this issue for a while. In the end, I decided it was best to take a break from calc, finish my physics sequence then return to calculus. However, scheduling issues seem to be against me, so apparently I will be taking calc 3 along with physics 2 next semester along with organic chem. Seems like a tough semester but I'm pretty sure it is doable with commitment and good time management.
