Scheduling Step 3

So I am confused about scheduling step 3. I registered today, but hadn't really realized that you can't pick your eligibility period. I was hoping to take it in August. I still have to send in all the candidate ID forms and such to complete the registration. Should I wait a few weeks so that by the time my app is processed, August would be in my 90 eligibility window? Or should I just go for it, register, and cough up the eligibility extension fee? Anybody know how much that runs?

It will likely take them several weeks to process all of your stuff, so chances are halfway decent that your eligibility period will include August.
