hey guys,

I don't know what I want to do, so stanford confuses me.\

so from my understanding the scholarly concentration thing at stanford makes you actually choose somewhat of a major. So this assumes that most students know what they want to do?

also if the above is true, isn't this very very different from what other schools advocate, which is expereincing med school before deciding on a concentration?

also ple posted that the new concentration thing increases research and stuff and decreases all other spcialties and medical fields. How does scholarly conc make stanfor even more of a reseacr school? just cause both tracks require reseacrh???

stanford has officially thrown me into confusion.

why do you have us write your stanford secondary for you? i'm having trouble with it too but that doesn't mean i start a new thread each and every time i crap myself about it.

The scholarly concentration is something that I think is really great about Stanford - if you actually look at the website explaining the 10 areas of concentration that you can choose from, and look at the sample of what a schedule looks like, I think most of your worries will be relieved. If not, maybe this isn't the school for you. Many of the ten concentration areas would fit nicely into nearly any specialty, so it isn't as if you have to choose an actual specialty.

Oh, and I agree with the poster above that said that use of the word "urgent" should be reserved for things that are a bit more...uh... urgent 😉

Good luck!

Yeah, sorry but this is like the fifth post you've made about Stanford. If you don't like their curriculum, don't apply there.
