I've been waitlisted at a school which I would pretty much only attend if they gave me a sizable scholarship. Is there any chance this would happen, or are the chances of attaining a decent scholarship pretty much nil if they haven't accepted you outright? I've already been accepted to other schools I would rather go to (but all are expensive), so do you think I should confirm my placement on the waitlist or withdraw and let another applicant have a chance?

Yes, applicants accepted off waitlists have been known to receive sizable scholarships, though this depends on the school. Also, if you're accepted off the waitlist without a scholarship offer, you can decline and that acceptance will just as soon go out to another waitlistee. No reason not to take the waitlist spot.
