Just curious, it is possible to get a full merit scholarship to Dental school?? There are people in Undergrad college that get merit scholarships and therefore don't have to paid a penny for their undergraduate degree...
I am just wondering is that possible for dental students to apply and get a FULL ride to dental school (meaning they don't have to paid a penny for their DDS degree...)?? Is it possible if you have really high stats?? anyone here know someone on Full scholarship to dental school right now?? (do you apply through Fafsa or through the school?? )

I dont think there are any full rides offered by a dental school...but then again I dont know about every school. I do know that some schools will give you some scholarship money...I think UPenn for example, and maybe UoP?..and I remembering hearing that NYU will give out some $$ to people after their first year of school. But as far as a full scholarship...I dont think so.

How do you get these small scholarships?? do you have to apply for them and write essays like you did in Undergrad? or do you apply for fafasa? or is everyone considered for the scholarships when you apply to the individual dental schools? Does your DAT have to be super high?

I think you'd be hard pressed to find a school that will give you a full ride, but smaller scholarships do happen.

I know some school automatically give small scholarships based on your undergraduate gpa.

Most of them are merit scholarships given by the schools. High GPA + DAT would be the keys to unlocking that money.

So you just apply and will be automatically considered?? (no fafasa or essays required??)
How much does these "small" scholarships cover? (1/4, 1/3 or 1/2 of the tuition?? 😀 )
The more you save the more Louis Vuitton bags you can buy...

My sister was offered a full tuition scholarship at Uconn last year (she didnt take it for personal reasons)

It just depends on the school. I was offered small merit-based scholarships at two of the schools I was accepted to. To my knowledge, they were based on my undergrad GPA and are only for my first year. Some schools however, will offer scholarships that cover much more and are renewable upon meeting certain criteria.

Do you mind listing some of those schools? Especially the ones that offer bigger scholarships. 😀 Uconn would be nice, is there any near the south (warm weather)??
