Only know about TCD, but we have a pretty sweet deal- after christmas of second year there is a performance based scholarship exam. Its called schols and if you get it you get around 10k off your fees, free accomodation and 3 course evening meal til you finish! Talk to your tutor in first year about it because your grades from 1st and 2nd year count towards it.
Rumours are that they don't give it to Canadians but its simply not true... And it's very achievable. My year 15/18 people that did the exam got it. This year there were around 45 that did it but think it was still around 15 that got it,
