  1. Pre-Health (Field Undecided)
I am interested in getting a scholarship for pod school. I have not yet applied or contacted any schools (I will do both).

If I apply am I automatically considered?
What schools offer them?
Are there any auxiliary ones?
How much of my education could they fund?
Do they have min cutoff gpa or mcat score (I will be sitting around a 3.7 and 30)?

Any answers or advice (besides telling me to call the school, cause I know that) would be helpful

- If your GPA and MCAT really sit at a 3.7 and 30, then you have a great shot at landing scholarship money, barring your acceptance. The only thing working against you is the time of your application. Since we are a little over mid-way through the cycle we can probably assume that scholarships have been given out to accepted students. However, I doubt all of them are gone. I cannot recall all the schools that give scholarship money. I do know though CSPM, Scholl, and DMU currently give rewarding scholarships. Good Luck.

Sorry I guess should have mentioned I will be applying in the next cycle! I also have plenty of volunteer experience, research, extracurric stuff and I am a self taught guitarist.

Actually now that I am on the subject I also have another question. So I live in washington state and have been surfing here for four years. Because washington is not really known for its surfing I figured this might be a way to show I can be self starter. But since I am also a self taught guitarist I can totally imagine how the admin committees may look at me as stoner. Is this true? Should I not talk about both? If it is can my interview help? I assume most pod schools do not want stoners admitted to their programs. I do not smoke.

Sorry to get off subject, I would prefer the conversation remain focused on scholarships.

If you surf and are a self taught guitarist then every school will reject you because it will be obvious to them that you're a stoner.

NYCPM gives out scholarships as well. I believe the max scholarship is 30,000. Since your stats are high, you'll probably get the max.
