Scholarships?

In regards to financial aid and scholarships, how much help can this provide for covering some of the costs of school?

I have a 3.96 overall GPA, and I scored a 1340 on the GRE last month. Can scholarships be offered based on these factors alone? What about if you're in your upper 20s and currently have low or no income (not claimed as a dependent)?

I'd just be curious to hear any input! Thanks so much!

The only scholarships I have seen offered for PT school are for 3rd year and don't amount to enough money to pay tuition, but would give you a thousand or two.

With few exceptions there is almost nothing by way of merit scholarships. And usually the amount is just a drop in the bucket. Of course every little bit helps...
I was lucky to be offered a nice scholarship to a private school. But it still did not come close to paying in-state tuition at a public school.
So I'm just happy to be able to go to an excellent in-state program.
Ohio State is the only school I found that offers fellowships but since I had already attended grad school there I did not qualify. Free tuition and monthly allowance. Check it out.

As far as financial aid is concerned, you can cover most costs depending on state/private tuition and school-related costs. Again, depending on schools, it depends on how many scholarships are offered and the extent of their monetary value. Most scholarships include certain criteria (i.e., community involvement, leadership, etc) aside from gpa/gre scores. I would consider researching schools that have cheap tuition/multiple scholarships.

A number of my friends have earned anywhere between 1k and full tuition during various portions (1st, 2nd, 3rd year) of their program. Also, as a non-resident, some schools may allow you to pay in-state tuition for earning a scholarship. This significantly increases the value of such a scholarship.

I hadn't heard of that! I wonder if that still applies if you come back to FL after going to school out of state..perhaps a sign-on loan forgiveness thing? Alas, that's good information to know!
