I have recently been accepted at Kent State CPM and also at Scholl CPM. I have until Monday to pay my deposit at Kent State and the following Monday to decide on Scholl.

Just trying to gather more info on the differences between the 2 schools

Price wise which one is cheaper? Kent school is in a small town so cost of living is low.

Did you visit either campuses and clinics? I know at kent clinics can be slow sometimes and you will have to drive since there is not just one main clinic like temple or ny.
However, one of the pod I shadowed graduated from kent and he is doing very well.

Price wise it'll be almost the same overall, which negates that part of my decision between the two. I interviewed at both last month and did the tour of the campus and clinic and really liked Scholl's campus and that they're adding a new wellness center onto the school. I also liked that the clinic at Scholl is in close proximity to the school, but it is also very slow and probably even slower than Kent's clinic.

2 of the pods I shadowed went to Kent as well and loved it and are doing well.

I like that Scholl goes for an interdisciplinary approach, but I do worry about becoming second hand to the MD students there and also not having DPM profs that can relate to DPM students.

Hmm an interdisciplinary approach? What does that even mean? I feel like that's just the schools spin on words about having the pod students take classes with the med students to save money and space. Unless the pod students and the med students are doing other stuff besides taking classes together, I don't see how sitting in the same classroom is supposed to promote "interdisciplinary -ness"

Another thing is that match %. The exact numbers are in the pod student forum. I know scholl had more students who didn't match into a residency than kent, though Kent didnt do so hot either compared to other big classes like ny or temple. I would straight up call both schools dean of admissions and Ask them straight up on why these students didn't match. The one that gives you the lesser bullsh*t answer would be the school to go to.

After emerging from OCPM to KENT STATE, I can only see upward trend for them. Secondly, If you already know 2 of your PODS that were from KENT and were successful. I do not see any reason not to follow in their "footsteps". Just my 2 cents.

Kent is certainly the better choice.

I'd go with Kent it's an even better school.
